Types of Poker

Texas Hold’em

Texas Hold’em is the most popular form of poker, and is the version most often seen in casinos and televised tournaments. This version is played with two hole cards, which are dealt face down to each player. Five community cards are then dealt face up in the middle of the table, which all players can use to make their best five-card hand. Betting takes place in between each round of cards being dealt.

Omaha

Omaha is another popular type of poker, and is similar to Texas Hold’em in that it is played with two hole cards and five community cards. The main difference between Omaha and Texas Hold’em is that in Omaha, each player must use exactly two of their hole cards and three of the community cards to make their best five-card hand.

Seven Card Stud

Seven Card Stud is a form of poker that is played with seven cards, three of which are dealt face down and four of which are dealt face up. Players must use the best five-card hand they can make from the seven cards they are dealt. Betting takes place in between each round of cards being dealt.

Razz

Razz is a variation of Seven Card Stud, but the aim of the game is to make the lowest five-card hand possible. Each player is dealt seven cards, three of which are dealt face down and four of which are dealt face up. The lowest hand wins the pot.

Draw Poker

Draw poker is a variation of poker in which each player is dealt five cards face down. Players can then discard any number of cards and draw new ones in an attempt to make the best five-card hand. Betting takes place in between each round of cards being dealt.

Poker is a game that can be enjoyed by players of all ages and skill levels. While there are many different types of poker, they all share the same goal of making the best five-card hand. Whether you are playing in a casino, online, or in your own home, Poker is sure to be a fun and exciting game.
